This place is believed to be the birthplace of 13th tirthaiikar Brahlan Vimalnat. Moreover, this place is also graced by the visit of Lord Mahavir. Thus, there are two temples situated here, one is dedicated to the Shwetambar Jains and other to the Digambar Jains. Besides theses there are also several other old temples at this place that possesses historical and religious significance.</a></p> <p>In fact, it is believed that during epic period this place was the capital of King Drupada, father of Draupadi. Apparently, the sacrificial altar from which Draupadi is believed to be have been born is also situated in Kampil till date.</p> <p>Furthermore, this place also has a famous temple of Rameshwarnath Mahadev. This temple is attributed by Shatrughna, brother Rama where the idol of Lord Shiva has been established which is believed to be worshiped by Sita, the wife of Rama in Ashok Vatika while she was held in captivity in Lanka.</p>
